Gorgeous

Grady asked me last night why I was washing my face. I said because I have make-up on and I need to wash it off. He says "Mom, you don't need to wear make-up you're Gorgeous!" Talk about melting a mama's heart. I said "Aw, thanks babe" and he said "I love you so much mommy!" Couldn't have been a better ending to my day.

People say Troublesome 3's no way we're in the Terrific 3's. He's so sweet and caring at this age, I love it!!!

Also, last night he was with daddy at the archery range shooting their bows. He tripped and hit his eye on a table corner. He came home with a super glued wound and a butterfly band-aid. It's a little swollen and turning dark today. My poor boy, but he assured me he was OK that he's tough!!

My Boys Are Better Than What I Could Have Ever Asked For

I love the things my boys say (or don't say) and do!!!

Grady-Row, row, row your boat gently down the STREET...merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a DREEP!

Bryce loves to give kisses by smacking his lips and looking at you and it doesn't matter who you are!!! So Sweet!

Grady knows his name starts with a G and can make the letter but really doesn't care about that 'name' stuff yet though he can tell you his name is Grady Lee Rasmussen

Bryce says plain as day now, 'Kitty' when he sees our cat Jack or 'mow' to get Jack to 'talk' to him

Grady and Brad had a conversation about peeing on the toilet seat and not doing so because it will make mommy mad to sit in it and Grady replied with "I peed on the wall I bet she didn't like that"

Both boys LOVE to carry wood pieces in to the house to help start a fire in the wood stove. Brad is now cutting smaller sizes for Bryce as he loves, loves, loves to carry in a piece then stand back and wait for praise from us. Hard to believe our 16 month old can do such a task!

Grady is so independent and a GREAT helper with carrying things to the car or house to help mom out. I love that he can open the car door and get himself in along with buckling his own car seat. I had to say the other day that he will be 4 years old in May and I have to admit it made me stop and shed a tear. My first baby is 4 years old...

Brad thinks its a good year to take the boys to World's or Ocean's of Fun this summer. I replied with really and what is Bryce going to do...get a sunburn!! FYI we have a fair, skinned red head that would be less than 2 years old...what rides could he be on, oh none!!!! Maybe in a few years!!

Brad and I however, get to go on another beach vacation this summer. We are booked for a Caribbean Cruise in June. Love that Builders appreciates their customers :0)

I could go on and on about my awesome, amazing sons but I better get them to bed! Hope all is well with each of you and that this note is finding your families in good health!

A bit fruity

My boys love to eat fruit of any kind. Grady likes to peel his own oranges and Bryce eats apples whole! We got a box of fruit for Christmas and it didn't take them long to get through it!

Yes! Bryce can eat a full sized apple at (the) 15 months of age!

Our Daddy Is The BEST

The past two days its been snowing and snowing!! I'm excited to get out and do some sledding but it's still snowing and really, really cold! Despite the weather Daddy and Grady went out to the shop to do 'Guy Things' as Grady says. Well, they pulled up to the house this afternoon to show me this! Brad and Grady built a gi-normous sled or contraption as some would call it :-) Whatever it's name, Grady was having a blast and I too took a turn with Grady while Bryce was napping and it was pretty fun. It's a bit cold out to stay out too long so we'll try it out again tomorrow. It's so big our whole family could fit on it!! What an awesome, fun, intuitive daddy we are lucky to have!

This video is the first eye shot I got of their home-made sled

Feeling Left Out

Grady likes to look at all of the cousin blogs with me. We talk about who everyone is, how old they are, who their parents are and the such. This morning he was loving looking at Noah and Micah's trips to the train museums and all of Noah's dinosaurs. On Cadyn's blog there is a video, we have a video of Bryce on ours, we watched Finn and Tess, then we watched Micah bouncing on his tramp! Grady started bouncing like Micah and insisted he have a video of himself. The last video of him on the blog was in June when we came home from Jamaica with a Welcome Home sign he made for us. That is the kind of video he wanted to make again! He is impatiently waiting right now for the video to load to watch himself over and over and over again! Enjoy Grady Lee!

New Years Resolution

My new year's resolution is to become a better time manager and loose these last 10 pounds of babiness. So far I've started the year off right eating salads for supper and cereal for lunch. However, I need to learn to love the taste of water to make it all happen so I am finding and trying out new things with water to make me in to a better lover of it! I am also doing great at being a time manager as I am blogging this particular blog while watching Brycie take a bath!! I am sitting on my toilet while he's trying to splash to get my attention, so maybe this isn't the Best idea I've had, but its working for now. I blogged the other posts yesterday while both my boys were napping (deep down I wanted to be napping as well but I knew my fellow blog followers were wondering what was up in the Rasmussen house). So here's to a newer, skinnier Sonya and more blogging about my babes! Happy 2011 to all.

Enjoy the following clip of Bryce successfully feeding himself with a spoon. He usually holds it in one hand and feeds himself with the other hand. Tonight, sick and all, he put it all together!!

IT SNOWED!!!!!

It FINALLY snowed last weekend!!! I'm not sure who was more
excited me, grandma or the boys!! Grandma Cyndy and Grandpa Greg
called and invited the boys out to the farm for some four-wheeler
and sledding action. I bundled up our little men and away we went.
Bryce looked like a little blue marshmallow and Grady like a 15 year old.
The pictures are all out of order but a nice recap of a very fun day for all!

It was pretty cold out for Bryce so Grandma and Grady entertained
Bryce through the window by throwing snow at him
Brycie loves his Grandma Cyndy

Wiping a snowball off of the window
Grady tried throwing a snowball but it wasn't packed tight
enough and it all went back in his face, kinda funny :-)
Look at those Rasmussen eyes!
Like I said it was too cold out so Bryce wanted to come in
and start a fire to warm up!!

Isn't he so cute all bundled up for the cold!!

Working Out

I was working out one evening and Grady decided to join in.
We were pretty impressed that Grady was doing full scale
push ups on his tip toes and all. He said Mr. David from
daycare told him how to do it so he would be tough!! He's got
it down so he must have been listening. Most nights Grady and
daddy wrestle and Grady will ask "Daddy can I do a take down
on you!" He should rock the house when pee wee wrestling comes
around next spring!! Go Grady Go!

Showing us a bridge up what turned in to a crab walk across the couch!!

Bryce's Curls

Late November I bit the bullet and FINALLY said yes to
cutting off my baby boy's curls. It was really only one big curl
and it caused him bed head in that one spot every morning.
It needed to be done. I was skeptical but after the fact I was
SO glad we did it. Grandma Marlene did a fine job at the task!!

Later that night daddy got his hair cut and the boys watched the entire time
