Update

A quick update on our lives...

Brad is continuing to build numerous houses at once and staying VERY busy with that. So proud of him and his awesome talents as a contractor, daddy, and husband.

Bryce has begun to associate the word 'meow' with our cat Jack. Bryce will dig his head into Jack and lay on top of him saying 'meow' it's pretty darn cute. He will also say 'bye bye' and 'hi'. His version of mom is more like 'mam' but I will take that and the word dad has gone out the window for some reason. We are planning for the big 1 year bday party to happen in a few weeks so getting excited for that!

Grady is loving preschool and the structure has proven to be good for all. He's growing up WAY too fast but still tells me he loves me every day with a kiss to follow so that makes it ok for now...

Girls Golf Season is in full swing (haha) so that always adds a little stress around our house. Its a short season ending the beginning part of October so its manageable. The first meet the girls got 5th place out of 8 teams with one girl receiving a 13th place medal and the second meet we got 5th out of 11 teams with one girl receiving a 9th place medal. At each meet they only medal 15 individual places and the top 2 teams. We have 2 meets a week, every Tuesday and Thursday which start at 10am and end some where between 5pm and 6pm. Its crazy but fun. We only have one meet this week (our only week with one meet) so tomorrow night we are headed to the state fair and its new location in Grand Island. Hope the boys enjoy all the sights and sounds as much as we're anticipating!

Mia Morgan Rasmussen

This is our newest niece Mia (Mee-ah). Brad's brother and his wife had her
a week ago tomorrow. Four nieces and one nephew, hoping for a nephew come March 1st!!
Cute pouty face, she was just upset that I gave her up :-)
Loved holding on to her, she's so snugly!!

Grady-Preschool

Grady's first day of 3 year old preschool
Grady found his name and hook to hang his backpack right away!
One quick cheesy smile for mom before hanging up his jacket
Hanging his jacket up all by himself
The first activity the kids need to do when they arrive is to practice writing/tracing their name
The first center he chose was the house center and the cash register.
He loves playing with money and the doctor set in that center.
I was hoping he would like cooking so he can cook for me some day ;-)

Our New Ride

We are the proud new owners of a slightly used 2010 Suburban!!!!
Hello bling and MORE room...good bye Mitsubishi
or Mitsu-SHITsi as Brad called her.
Love, Love, Love it and am SOOOO excited to have it.
Our car could neer hold the people we wanted it to or
the things we had to haul. Now we can pull the boat, haul kids
and company, and have room for our lake things. So excited!!
When we were kids my parents always had a suburban to
haul us around in so this step in our lives has made us come to
the realization that we are officially "Adults" and
have to be a bit more responsible than we already are ;-)
Never thought I'd have a 'mom' ride quite like this
but I'm loving it and we've only had it 24 hours!!!

Bryce's feet

I LOVE BABY FEET

Croup

Well, Thursday marked my official day back to work. Both Thursday and Friday were a whirlwind with all the in-service meetings, phone calls, and IEP meetings to schedule. And guess what Bryce decided to do...Wednesday night Bryce was a little restless throughout the wee morning hours of the night. I wasn't too concerned as he is teething big time right now. His four top middle teeth are all coming in at the same time. So far both incisors have poked just the tips through and the middle two just need to break the skin. Well, by the time I picked Bryce up from daycare Thursday afternoon his nose discharge was getting greener. Thursday night was another tough night and finally last night was the worse. When he woke up this morning he sounded like an injured baby seal. And he was covered in snot. When we were watching tv last night we could hear him 'trying' to breath through all his congestion. I took him to the doctor first thing this morning and he has Croup. What a way to start out the school year huh! All summer to get sick and he does it the first week mama goes back to work, go figure! We got him some meds and have started breathing treatments so just praying that come Monday morning he will be good as new so I don't have to miss the first day of school! We also discovered that not only the top four teeth are coming in so are two more on the bottom next to the two that are already there. We could see the white under the skin, poor baby...

Oh, and in all his sickness I pretty much let him do whatever he wants to keep him happy. So he just discovered the fold down cup holder thingy in our couch and played there for quite some time climbing on and off and slapping the cup holders to keep himself entertained!!

Pike to an Eel

Grady passed his class/level and is officially done with swimming lessons which were a wonderful thing for him to have gone through this summer. He learned a lot and it showed when we would take him swimming or to the lake. He graduated from a Pike to an Eel!! Next summer he will be swimming all on his own without the instructor right next to him! Exciting!

Caydence

We got the pleasure of watching our neighbor Caydence the other day while her mommy and daddy were at work. The two of them were playing cowboys with their guns most of the day. Caydence would say "I'm a girl cowboy and Grady's just a cowboy"
Grady saw Jaelyn a friend from a past daycare and she convinced him to ride on her bike with him. He stood on the taining wheel bar and rode for a block to the library! I little scary to watch!
Bryce about fell asleep while in these steller swings!
Everybody enjoyed a little swinging action!
We had a busy day togther...First we caught the last part of the summer reading program, then off to the library, then to the park for a bit, next was lunch with Brad followed by a visit to Caydence's mommy's work, then home to nap and play the rest of the afternoon!
